Hospital Auxiliary

For over 40 years the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary has been providing support to the Hospital in a variety of ways. The purpose of the auxiliary is to: 

  • Promote and advance the welfare of the hospital
  • Acquaint the public with the mission of St. Joseph's
  • Provide service for the patients of St. Joseph's
  • Engage in fundraising activities
  • Carry on such other charitable works that promote the values, mission and charitable purposes of St. Joseph's

Monthly meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 1:30 P.M. in the hospital auditorium. The meeting is followed by a program and coffee social. Some members of the auxiliary also choose to also volunteer at St. Joseph's. The auxiliary supports a variety of special project within the hospital, which includes:

  • Valentine Cookie Sale
  • Silver Tea
  • Fundraising
  • Holy Cross Scholarship Representative

Volunteer Services

Volunteers at St. Joseph's are instrumental in helping us provide quality, compassionate health care. The volunteers give over 20,000 hours annually of dedicated service in 30 different areas of the hospital. A hospital volunteer is a person who donates their time, skills and supports the hospital staff. They are dedicated individuals who work daily to benefit patients, families, staff and the community in a variety of ways. St. Joseph's has a volunteer program for adults and students.

The Adult Volunteer Program at St. Joseph's is an opportunity for adults who like to volunteer. The program offers flexible schedules with jobs such as:

  • Mail Escort
  • Magazine Cart
  • Swing Bed Unit
  • Nutrition Services
  • Gift Shop
  • Information Desk
  • Medical Records
  • Housekeeping
  • Facilities - indoors and outdoors
  • Renal Dialysis
  • Medical-Surgical/Pediatrics

The Junior Volunteer Program at St. Joseph's is an opportunity for students who are over the age of 13 and have completed 7th grade to volunteer in a variety of hospital departments. The junior volunteer program runs June thru August.
