Mental and emotional wellness is as important as physical health for leading a meaningful, active life. The Mental Health Services available at St. Joseph's provide comprehensive specialized care in the treatment for adolescents and adults.

Psychiatry Services
One in five Americans suffer from mental health disorders, however mental and emotional disorders are treatable. Psychiatry Services at St. Joseph's is staffed with psychiatrists and nurse practitioners who are available meet the needs of their patients by offering:

Inpatient Mental Health Unit
St. Joseph 's Hospital Inpatient Mental Health facility is a 12-bed facility in a relaxed atmosphere. In this safe, therapeutic environment group therapy is designed to address the needs of the individual. Patients will participate in groups with our multi-disciplinary team that are appropriate to their individual needs. The average length of stay is three to five days. Specific areas addressed are:

  • Anxiety or Panic Attacks
  • Anger Management
  • Family Difficulties
  • Post Traumatic Stress
  • Marital Problems
  • Unhealthy Relationships
  • Adjustment Difficulties
  • Adult Children of Alcoholics
  • Alcohol/Drug Issues
  • Dissociative Disorder
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Stress
  • Codependency
  • Self-Esteem

Outpatient Behavioral Health
The Outpatient Behavioral Health Program is committed to working with individuals, couples and families with mental and emotional health disorders. The program is also designed to serve adolescents as young as eleven with emotional and/or behavioral symptoms. The staff evaluates the patient’s needs and provides services that help them cope with their symptoms, build relationships and engage in productive activities. The following are a few areas commonly addressed by our staff:

  • Anxiety
  • Panic Attacks
  • Depression
  • Anger Management
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Grief
  • Alcohol and Drug issues
  • Dissociative Disorder
