Message from the President/CEO

Reed was born and raised in Eastern Montana.  He earned a BS in ED from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD, an MS in Special Education/Psychological Services and an ED.S in School Psychology at Idaho State University.  His resume includes Special Education Director, School Psychologist, and Teacher and Coach for 15 years, before moving into healthcare administration in 2004.  Reed served as the Critical Access Hospital Administrator at Prairie Community Hospital in Terry, MT., and as the Outreach Administrator for Glendive Medical Center (CAH) from 2004 – 2009 before moving to Dickinson to fill his current position as President and CEO of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center.

Reed is married to Sandra and they have two married children and two grandchildren.  He balances his work schedule with family, fitness and golf.  Reed is known for his approachability, his commitment to transparency and his compelling viewpoints. 

Reed’s Philosophy is:  Lead by example, by setting high goals and expectations and then empowering and equipping those around me to succeed.
